THE PACES (Practical Examination of Clinical Examination Skills) is the final part of the Examination that has to be passed, to obtain a Diploma to the Royal College of Physicians of the UK and obtain the title ‘MRCP’. The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Glasgow & London are joined together as the ‘Federation’. The individual Colleges are over 400 years old.

The MRCP (UK) is accountable to the Federation and sets internationally acknowledged standards in Medicine based on professional excellence. The MRCP(UK) administers the examinations in the UK and several international centers.

The MRCP PACES examination can be taken in several centres in India.The PACES Exam is jointly administered by the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh, Glasgow & London. The PACESprep course is a non-profit course that offers candidates a unique opportunity to be coached by current PACES examiners, in accordance with the requirements of the Federation, to improve their presentation skills and strengthen their chances of passing the exam

The PACESprep course being held at Aster MIMS Hospital, Kottakkal, is a new and unique 3-day course where 20 candidates will be tutored by 10 current PACES examiners over 3 days...

Day One will focus on demonstration of different stations using surrogates and real patients to emphasize examination and presentation techniques.

Day Two will focus on group sessions with real patients and surrogates. There will be emphasis on Station 2, 4 & 5.

Day Three will be focus on current updates in Medicine and a mock exam. The mock exam will follow the timing and structure of the real PACES exam. Individualised feedback will be given to all candidates. This course is ‘not-for-profit’ and follows RCP criteria for high-quality teaching and professionalism. The final programme will be tailored to meet candidate needs. The Faculty is very experienced in teaching PACES candidates and consist of 4 UK-based examiners and 6 India-based examiners who have collectively examined over 5,000 candidates in the real PACES examination.
