Is this course run for profit?

No, this course is a non-profit course and is run according to guidelines set by the Royal College of Physicians with an emphasis on high quality teaching and candidate satisfaction.

Is this course endorsed by the Royal College of Physicians (UK)?

The course is run with the knowledge of the Royal College. Endorsement will be sought in the future.

Who are the UK based Faculty?
The UK based Faculty will consist of several very experienced examiners and include:
  • Dr Abraham Chacko, FRCP, Course Director and UK based and international PACES examiner since 2004, and PACES Chairman and host. Dr Chacko is a Consultant Cardiologist based in the UK and examines over 100 candidates per year and is an experienced cardiologist and teacher
  • Dr Peter Newman, FRCP, Consultant Neurologist, Middlesborough Hospital, UK, is a PACES Examiner in UK and international. Dr Newman examines over 300 candidates per year, and has examined in over 10 international centres and has been a Chairman in several international centres. Dr Newman has also examined and chaired in most Indian PACES Centres.
  • Dr Brian Cooper, FRCP, is a recently retired Consultant Physician and Gasterenterologist in Birmingham, UK and has been a PACES examiner since 1996 and examines around 250 candidates per year and has examined in 11 international centres. Dr Cooper, has also held various administrative posts with RCP London and has been a Censor, Council member and Finance Board member for 10 years.
  • Dr Deepak Dwarkanath, is a Consultant Physician and Gasteroenterologist at Stockton-on-Tees and Medical Director since 2016 and a PACES Examiner, Chairman and host examiner for over 15 years. Dr Dwarakanath is also the Vice-President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
  • Dr Tom Charlton, MRCP, Imperial College, London. Dr Charlton has a Masters Degree in Medical Education and is passionate about helping each candidate to be the best they can be.
  • Dr Liza Chacko, MRCP, Specialist Registrar Cardiology. Dr Liza Chacko works at one of London's major cardiology centres and coaches candidates preparing for PACES and will provide updates on current practice in cardiology.
Who are the India-based Faculty?

  • Dr Tahsin Neduvanchery, is an interventional cardiologist at Aster MIMS Kottakkal and is the course director and will be coordinating the course at Kottakkal. Dr Neduvancherry is well known in Kerala and India as an enthusiastic teacher and organiser and has run several cardiology based courses in Kerala

Will there be an opportunity to see many patients?

As most candidates will be physicians with experience, the course will focus on examination technique and presentation skills, rather than examining numerous patients.

Will there be an opportunity to practice in Stations 2, 4 & 5?

Yes. Well prepared surrogates and scenarios similar to the ones you may meet in the actual examination will be used and mimic real examination conditions.

What is the course fee for MRCP PACES PREPARATORY and how is the registration completed?
  • The early bird course fee is Rs 55,000 (fifty five thousand) plus GST until January 15- 2020 From January 16- 2020 the course fee will be Rs 75,000 (seventy five thousand) plus GST.

Will there be a mock examination at the end of course?

Yes, there will be a mock examination with timings and conditions similar to actual examination conditions. Written feedback will be given to all the candidates.
